OUR WINES
We firmly believe that wine should be fun and approachable, not intimidating, which is why we've intentionally created a carefully curated selection of handpicked wines, rather than an overwhelming encyclopaedia of all the traditional varietals and regions you might find at a typical wine shop. We want to represent the classic styles through more unknown varietals and regions, whilst offering the best value at the same time. Our philosophy is simple: if it's on our shelves, it's something we love and would share with our friends and family.
ABOUT US
Co-founded by friends and wine fanatics Abi and Sarah, The Stores was  born from a passion for sharing the very best wine and cheese.
We both grew up and live locally, and boast a combined 25 years across the wine industry. Our careers span from working in vineyards, sommelier roles within Michelin-starred restaurants such as Gidleigh Park and curating bespoke wine lists for world-famous venues like The National Theatre and Wimbledon to name a few, along with many more well-regarded drinking and dining establishments.
Now our mission is to introduce the South West to some of the world’s most exciting wines and British cheeses.
OUR CHEESE
We have made a deliberate choice to exclusively work with independent producers who share our ethos that regenerative viticulture and agriculture is the most effective approach for ensuring the future of our planet. Our cheese selection celebrates the very best of British cheese and we work directly with many local dairies to help reduce our carbon footprint, as well as to promote local businesses.
The Stores is both a shop and bar, meaning customers can visit to seek advice, browse the selection, or stay for a drink and try some of the finest British cheese available.
